Specialized Roubaix Pro Di2 Disc 2017 Carbon Road Bike - £7400 New

£2000 O.N.O

Size Mens 54

This is an amazing machine!! If you haven’t heard of the Roubaix then it is a stage in the tour de france with some of the most difficult terrain, mainly a long run over cobblestone which literally used to shake the race bikes to pieces, as such companies set to design a bike that was specifically acceptionale at absorbing the bumps and specialized design the Roubaix. It is, I believe the only road bike on the market with front suspension and it is truly remarkable!!

It is easily the most comfortable bike you will ever ride but all that plush comfort does not sacrifice speed, it is simply amazing, bike of the year in 2017 for good reason!!

The bike has fully electronic DI2 Shifting with hydraulic brakes and upgraded wheels. When new this bike sold for £6000 as standard and the bike is now running on a set of NR6 carbon wheels with costed £1400 new so the full package is £7400.

The bike is in very good condition for its age and it has an excellent specification, with upgraded carbon wheels and Shimano Ultegra Di2.

There are various light marks, but nothing significant. Everything is in excellent working order and well maintained

.

The paintwork on the bike is simply amazing, colour changing with the light, it is a stunning machine!!

I can ship the bike to anywhere in the UK mainland

A little heavy on paper, but I didn’t notice

As effective and rapid as any road bike, but with the ability to absorb the worst surfaces - Russell Burton

Once some weight is applied to the bar, you’re essentially suspended - Philip Sowells/Immediate The seatpost clamp allows the carbon post to sway - Philip Sowells/Immediate Media

Is Future Shock the, er, future for road bike suspension? - Philip Sowells/Immediate Media

I was never that convinced by the original Roubaix’s Zertz inserts, and the big S has now decided that its best vibration-absorbing solution involves a bona fide spring.

  • Bike of the Year 2017: Specialized Roubaix wins Road Bike of the Year

Specialized began by creating its lightest ever frame with the stiffest FACT 11r carbon, which seems unwise for something aiming to soak up rough roads.

Apparently considerably stiffer than the outgoing SL4 Roubaix, with new geometry but the same fit, the new model is more revolutionary than evolutionary.

The fork’s steerer is shorter than usual, its top clamped by a collar above the upper headset bearing. A choice of headset covers adds either zero or 15mm extra stack, then the Future Shock cartridge, essentially a piston allowing 20mm of travel, drops into place.

The headset is adjusted by a pair of telescoping grub hex screws on each side. Swapping the Future Shock’s spring is far less involved, and takes around 10 minutes.

It’s too easy to pigeonhole the Roubaix as a bike only for riders seeking comfort, which would do it a major disservice. The Roubaix is as efficient, effective and rapid as any road bike, but with the ability to absorb the worst surfaces, and help you concentrate on getting places faster and safer.

Perfectly happy to post a bike which I have done so many times without issue, price will be £100 with full insurance
